Well, nobody can say this place doesn't surprise 'em anymore, I guess.

If anyone needs help with clean-up and rebuilding, I'm free. If everybody pitches in I bet it won't take much time!

Just how much damage did that thing do, anyway? What do we know about what it was and why it came here?

Hey, Spike? Are you okay? You've been pretty quiet lately.

[Zack's hanging around outside surveying the damage and making sure everything in the house is in order :|b Anyone's free to bother him.]

[Guy is patient, he can wait it out. So he mixes up Zack's drink and slides it on over.]

[It doesn't take too long, but when Zack's finally ready, he lifts up and drains the glass in one go, and sighs.] I slept with Cloud.

[The urge to catcall rises but Guy swallows it down. Zack might appreciate it, but maybe once he's in better spirits.] I see.

Then he told his ex-girlfriend we're both hooking up with Aerith.

Oooh. [Okay that's the reason behind the frown. Ouch.]

Yep. [He slides his glass back and forth a bit, visibly unimpressed.] And then his son disappeared.

[Well hell.] And you've been playing counselor and go-between, haven't you?

I'm trying to. It's sort of a mess right now.

Counselor I can see, but do you really have to play translator, too? [Guy takes Zack's glass and mixes him a new drink.]

Translator, what? [Swig.]

Let me guess how this is going. [And here Guy puts his amazing ~~thread-stalking~~ observational skills to the test.]

You, Zack, are gifted with the spoken word. That's not hard to see. Cloud isn't. That's also pretty obvious. And he doesn't know what to do -as evidenced by him telling his ex-girlfriend about this when I'm guessing this has only happened in the past couple weeks since you didn't say anything about it last time we spoke- so it's up to you to both try and help him work through it, explain what's going on to other people, especially Aerith. Who, by the way, is a lovely woman, and you have excellent taste.

Meanwhile, that leaves you up and out in terms of affection and attention from him because he's too busy wallowing in his own problems -which, honestly, I won't fault him for, what with losing his kid- but that also leaves you feeling a bit used and cheapened because something that was obviously very important and special to you has fallen to the wayside of his attention span. Tell me if I'm getting cold.

You're getting a bit cold, but you were close for a lot of that. I'm not really feeling left behind for affection - I knew he'd have issues, that's just how he is. I'm just tired of him always getting the short end of the stick, you know? He's just... like that. He really has terrible luck sometimes, and he gets discouraged easily.

[Ahhh, he was off. Oh well, he is biased.]

Is this unlucky streak pretty long?

He's had a pretty rough life, yeah. I don't blame him for being uneasy about all this.

Any plans on how you're going to deal with this?

Huh? Oh, not really... I'm just focusing on helping Cloud right now. I'm feeling pretty good, situation aside.

You think he might change his mind?

....I don't know. [But he's worried about that.]
