Of course! If we had to pick between getting food or being together, I know what I'd choose.

[ It's okay, she'll grab his hand to make him feel better. ]

I don't want to dignify it with a response!

[his pride isn't too wounded, though, because her hand feels nice in his.]

[ She's trying really hard to be serious, honest. ]

I'll let you off this time, then.

[wingenvy]

Awww, my hero.

[He leans over to kiss her forehead, resting his head against hers. There's a muffled announcement over the hall's speaker, and slowly, the train creeps out of the station.]

[ They're that gross couple on the train. Aerith hums, leaning against him, tilting her face up and snuggling close, just because she can. ]

I do my best!

[wingenvy]

[Zack's content to snuggle for a bit, but then he realizes something and leans back just enough to dig through his pocket.]

Oh, right- I almost forgot! Here-

[Out comes the phone, where he flips to the camera function, holding it out in front of them so they're framed by the window.]

First photo: on the train!

Oh!

[ And Aerith moves, shifting so that she can tilt herself into frame, smiling brightly. ]

Cheese!

[ Of course, as soon as it's done she moves and leans over to try to see how it turned out. ]

[He tilts the phone to oblige her curiosity, showing off the selfie. Look at them, being all cozy and exceptionally cute together.]

Nice! I think it turned out pretty good.

[asphodels]

[ She claps her hands together, beaming up at him. They're disgusting, they're so gross, she loves it. ]

You'll send me them all, won't you?

[wingenvy]

Of course! At the end of the day we can pick the best one to send to Cloud, too.

[asphodels]

Yes! [ Leaning up, she kisses his cheek, just like that. ] That sounds perfect, Zack. Thank you.

[He still gets a little thrill every time he does that. He wonders (and doubts) if it'll ever wear off. It's just... so nice. Like how they use to be.]

Oh, hey! I knew it was a short trip. Look out the window there- you can see the park! See that floating island over there?

[Sure enough there's some big, fancy island structure in the distance, several small specks of cars moving up and down on coaster tracks.]

[ It's like being back before, but different, too - it's better, because there's nothing to tear us away from one another. ]

Oh! [ Leaning up, she stares over at it, her eyes widening. ]

How do you think it works?

[wingenvy]

Good question. Maybe the same kinda tech that lets them build those hover cars? Or how airships work back home... you saw those, right?

[asphodels]

I saw some! I always wanted to ride one of the airships.

[wingenvy]

Same here! Most of the SOLDIER trips involved trucks or helicopters, and they're not all that fun. Airships looked so much cooler.

[asphodels]

I wonder if we can fly on any. [ Aerith leans into him, thoughtful and considering. ] It must be cool, right? And fun?

[wingenvy]

you think the floaty cars here might feel the same?

[well, if neither of them has tried the real thing, they can just use their imagination...]

[asphodels]

Maybe... [ She frowns, tilting her head. ] Do you think we should try?

[wingenvy]

I definitely think we should try. Even if it isn't like an airship, it could still be fun!
