Hey guys, I'm back. In the most important sense, too - kinda late to say this, but I'm really sorry for everything I said in the last few days. From what I heard, just about everyone was acting weird, so I'm not gonna kill myself with emo about it, but... yeah. I'm sorry.

[Zack hesitated a moment, giving Sephiroth a serious look.]

Is it dangerous, though? I don't wanna convince Spike to let the kid do it when he could get hurt. I'd feel like a big jerk.

I cannot say it is perfectly safe; there are explosives and the Malnosso involved, after all. But I will take every precaution and will remain with Simon at every available moment. I'm not exactly a fan of child abuse, myself.

[Zack sighed, stuffing his hands into his pockets.]

Why don't you get Cloud involved with this? He'd probably be more open to the idea if he could be the one supervising his own kid.

[Sephiroth leaned back in his chair, folding his arms and quirking an eyebrow.]

You honestly believe that would make a difference?

[Zack offered up a sheepish grin.]

It's better than telling him it'll be just you watching the kid work. Cloud doesn't like putting his kids in danger - especially after what just happened - and he hates losing control of any situation.

He's clingy, and ill-suited to be a SOLDIER.

[Sephiroth's expression twisted into a thoughtful frown.]

I won't deny that perhaps with some psychological training, Strife may have eventually succeeded, but he is reluctant to change and poor at adapting to situations of stress, rare occasions aside. I doubt his presence would ease the situation or his fears.

Well we can't just cart Simon off and tell Cloud to wait like a good little housewife.

[Zack's lip twitched a bit.]

Though that would be pretty funny.

Then distract him for me.

[Zack choked a bit at that.]

Are you kidding me?! Distract Cloud so you can get his seven-year-old kid involved in a plan involving explosives? I thought you didn't want me to get killed again!

Come now, Strife would never kill you. Not when he is in his right mind.

That's reassuring... sort of. Except not, because for Simon I can see him making an exception. Seph, it's his kid.

Then I suppose you should explain the situation to him yourself. He would never relent if it were my suggestion.

I guess I can't do anything but try. Alright, I'll do my best. But don't blame me if he refuses again.
