Note to self: be more careful about who you flirt with. Sheesh.

So, lots of familiar New Feathers this time around, huh? It's getting kind of crazy. Is everyone getting settled in okay? Yuri, any guild business I should be doing?

It's been awfully quiet lately... not sure if we should be worried or what.

Oh hey, Spike! I got Tammy nesting in my room now. She's sulking, though, so I wouldn't let anybody bug her if I were you. They grow up so fast.

[Zack watches him, arms crossed, unruffled.]

And for all you know he could find me wherever I am and do it himself. And what about the kids, Cloud? Are you going to send them off to live somewhere else? With Tifa and Yoko, again? How long are you going to let this scare you?

[Goddammit WHY MUST YOU BE SIX THREE. It's hard to stare down a guy that's got eight inches on you.]

As long as it's a possibility.

So what's your grand plan, then?

[Cloud falls silent and rubs his arm. Yyyyeah, he doesn't have one.]

I get the feeling anything you come up with won't be met with rounds of encouragement from all.

[Zack purses his lips, looking away.]

I wish we hadn't tried to kill each other at all.

Zack, I'm never going to stop worrying. [Cloud goes in search of Tammy to apologize for scaring her earlier.] Never. That's just the type of person I am. But there's a difference between being worried and scared, and if I was scared...if I was scared, I wouldn't be here, talking to you about it. I'd have already gone after him.

I'm not asking you to stop worrying. I'm asking you to stop acting like we should pack up and ditch you every time something happens.

I'm not saying that either.

But that's what always happens.

Because it's happened before- [Cloud cuts himself off and just sits. He doesn't even know what point he's trying to make anymore.]

Kids need stability, y'know. If you're so worried why'd you invite us all to live with you?

[Hunching over now.]

... You know... [Zack's gonna scoot over and snag his shoulder now, gripping it nicely this time. Supportively. BFFly.] You keep saying you have to protect everyone, that you're doing all this for us... but I think you need us more than anything else.

[Cloud ducks his head.

So how about showing your appreciation instead of telling us off, huh?

Then don't. I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd tell you that you're a lot stronger than you were before.

[Cloud sighs; he wants to say "it's not that simple," but he's tired of arguing and he doesn't really have anything constructive to say anyhow.]

[Satisfied, Zack backs off. He looks pleased with himself but not obnoxiously so. Just glad Cloud's not being stupid ~~for the moment~~.]
