Had you not noticed the crescent on Empress Svala's back? It is a characteristic that comes along with becoming an aristo in my world. Aristos are reliant on lunar power rather than the various things that make humans work. As a result, they tend to be more logical than heart-felt. Svala is unusual in that she has grown so kind over time, but not all aristos are that way.

Lunar power is a blessing from the moon god himself, and aristos have limitless power should they learn how to properly use it. To many, that loss of emotion is a small cost for such a blessed state, even more so if they hold positions of power. The rulers of every country and many of their closest advisers are aristos, though some meages may hold positions of lower nobility.
