[This again... in this instance, though, Zack doesn't mind making the announcement. Luke had given him some bad news recently and it really seems to be hitting him hard, so it wouldn't be fair for the poor guy to have to tell everyone else, as well. He's been through enough lately.]

Hey guys, just a head's up... Guy Cecil's been sent back to his world.

[And since he'd rather not dwell on the bad news-]

Since we've lost him again, Good Spirits - that's the local bar here, for anybody who hasn't visited the place - is still looking for a couple more staff members, if anybody's interested. Servers especially. The place is run by me, Buffy, Raven, and Nami right now, but it's always nice to have a few nights off, so some extra hands can make a big difference for us. Inquire within!

We're trying to expand the menu to include some finger food, too- nothing too complicated, just stuff that's easy for anybody to make. Suggestions would be awesome.

I've probably had worse, yeah. It's okay, though, it's easy to clean.

[Who would complain to a scary lady with a big knife anyway? While he waits, though, he goes to add some water to another ice cube tray. Just in case.]

[ Well that's good. Knife or no, Lightning probably would have been embarrassed anyway if he'd been more upset about her mess in development here. Next time she'll have to remember to bring a towel to set it on or something.

She finishes the one slice a few moments before he's probably able to make it back, and simply pushes it with the chunks ready to be picked up closer to him after claiming one for own, then starting on another. Come to think of it, she should have brought some sort of container to put the extra in too, but ah well. ]

How's your... 'help wanted' search going?

Got a few offers, actually. I think we'll have a nice, healthy staff for a while.

[Unless there's a mass exodus, but that doesn't happen that often...

He scoops up the watermelon chunks she so helpfully provided, tossing them in a blender to get them good and crushed. Syrup and ice to follow.]

Hopefully people who are willing to learn how to actually work and not just get drunk all day.

She makes kind of a hneh sound at that, smirking but not quite making it a laugh as she half-shrugs one shoulder. ]

My biggest concern is usually whether or not they can mix the drinks, but when I started I didn't know what I was doing either, so I shouldn't judge too much. We just need fast learners.

And the time to teach them. [ A pause while she starts carving off the fruit from another slice, before she thinks of something else- ] And, the hope that everyone will be patient if their drinks taste funny for a while.

[ Do they make STUDENT BARTENDER decals to paste on people? Because they should. ]

[A moment of shaking and pouring, and he slides over a watermelon slush, as promised. Then scoops up some more melon to make another, because damn it looks tasty.]

Well, if there's one thing that we've got around here, it's time. There seems to be no end to it.

[ Heyyy, a drink. C: She gives a brief smile in thanks, but... ]

Maybe we should learn to time travel.

[ ...it starts to fade yet again as the hidden weight behind that apparently flippant little comment starts to sink in properly for her too. With the three latest additions to Luceti from her world, with their talk of twisted timelines and missing older sisters who'd definitely promised never to leave those she cared about behind...... ]

Ha! Might do us some good, wouldn't it? We could surf around the timelines, changing history left and right... actually, now that I think about it, aren't there movies where that kind of thing always ends badly?

[ Her cutting is paused abruptly at that, as she affects a small, troubled frown- because that is just the thing to say to the woman whose beloved little sister apparently is a time-traveler, right? ]

[ Safe to say she doesn't watch many movies anyway. Boy is she worried already, though. ]

...Well, it's a nice thought, anyway. Maybe if we had a big "what-if" machine where we could find out what the changes we made could do first... but that sounds pretty ambitious, too.

[ She raises an eyebrow as she finally pulls the slush he made for her over for a sip, as if she's trying to wash down the bitter taste in her mouth.

... Something that's pretty common for her, especially these days. It's a wonder she isn't really into sugar much, huh? ]

[ Caught off-guard for a moment, she blinks before her stoic demeanor slides back into place properly... though it's another beat or two before she processes the actual goofiness of the question. Is he teasing her?

[With Zack he makes it hard by almost always teasing a little in everything he says. He is honestly curious about her opinion, though, so her approval makes him grin.]

Excellent! I should confiscate the rest of the watermelon and add it to the menu, then.

Confiscate?

[ An eyebrow raise goes here. Does he really want to take his chances pretending he can take the fruit without her permission? ]

[ Just sitting here semi-patiently, expectantly waiting for this polite request to be presented! Will there be balloons? A musical number, perhaps...? ]

[ -- Pfff. 'My love?' Both her brows shoot up at that... but she is surprised into being a little amused despite herself, and thoroughly rolls her eyes before pushing more of her finished chunks towards him.

[He tries his best not to grin too happily as he claims his prize, but he's not very good about restraint. The watermelon goes right into a tupperware container to store. Fodder for all the drinks, sweet deal.]

[ She still sort of gives him a flat look, but lets it go eventually, lacing her fingers together with elbows on the counter. Srs attitude or no... she does like pleasing him, even if it's over something as silly as this. ]

I guess it would be hard to cut watermelon with your idea of a 'knife.'

Aww, you can't hold the Buster against me! It's too special to just be used as a simple knife. What if I didn't clean it properly? It'd rust!
