So, lots of familiar New Feathers this time around, huh? It's getting kind of crazy. Is everyone getting settled in okay? Yuri, any guild business I should be doing?

It's been awfully quiet lately... not sure if we should be worried or what.

Oh hey, Spike! I got Tammy nesting in my room now. She's sulking, though, so I wouldn't let anybody bug her if I were you. They grow up so fast.

She is. Her heart is even more beautiful than her physical features.

To be fair, I cheated at aging. Capell is only seventeen.

I am not serving any particular kingdom ~~anymore~~, though I am backed by one politically. Edward is the one who fights for nobility and dedication to his leader. I'm just the one who goes looking for trouble.

Haha, that sounds kind of familiar. Though if your mom's an empress, aren't you some kind of prince? Emperor-to-be? What do you call that?

And uh, I kinda get the feeling Edward just fights for you. He's not exactly quiet about that.

It's part of that long story. We are family that does not share blood, and I hold no claim to her empire.

I am not a country or a cause, but Edward fights for me like any knight I have ever known. The way he fights is not suited to armor like mine, so he doesn't wear it.

Ahh. That sucks. Unless you don't wanna be emperor, in which case more power to you.

Ed uses that really big sword, right? He's sorta like me and Cloud in that sense. A bunch of armor just weighs you down too much. When you're hefting around a huge weapon like that you gotta take whatever speed advantages you can get.

I was king. Not all of the experience was great.

He has chain mail on to protect his chest in case something gets past that sword, but otherwise light clothing. For carrying something so large, he is surprisingly fast.

You were king, and now you're the son of an empress? That does sound like a long story.

Ah, so he's quick on his feet? It's not often you find somebody like that with a sword that size. Even I'm pretty slow with the Buster.

He can very nearly keep up with me on the battlefield, though I suspect his sword weighs as much as I do. I think his lunaglyph is part of it, but the rest is his own enthusiasm.

A lunaglyph is a magical glyph bestowed on the night a child is born. It is a gift of lunar power, and its strength depends on the phase of the moon on the night of the birth. It is how most people in my world gain power.

Huh... I've never heard of anything like that. So the moon gives people power? What happens when there's no moon?

The moon god gives people power. When there is a new moon or an eclipse, a child is considered an "unblessed." The different kingdoms have varying ways of dealing with such children, but they are generally considered bad omens and done away with.

...That's a pretty harsh punishment for being born on the wrong day of the month.

I believe the phrase goes, "you are preaching to the choir."
