Note to self: be more careful about who you flirt with. Sheesh.

So, lots of familiar New Feathers this time around, huh? It's getting kind of crazy. Is everyone getting settled in okay? Yuri, any guild business I should be doing?

It's been awfully quiet lately... not sure if we should be worried or what.

Oh hey, Spike! I got Tammy nesting in my room now. She's sulking, though, so I wouldn't let anybody bug her if I were you. They grow up so fast.

The centuries have been kind to her.

She is. Her heart is even more beautiful than her physical features.

To be fair, I cheated at aging. Capell is only seventeen.

She is. Her nation is rather spoiled in that manner.

My body is not the same as it once was.

An Empress, though she would not have anyone call her that here.

It's a long story.

I wouldn't really call myself a knight. Edward perhaps, but not myself.

Indeed. It is something that has taken some time to get used to.

I am not serving any particular kingdom anymore, though I am backed by one politically. Edward is the one who fights for nobility and dedication to his leader. I'm just the one who goes looking for trouble.

Very well.

[identity profile] grinnvalesti.livejournal.com 2009-01-18 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
It's part of that long story. We are family that does not share blood, and I hold no claim to her empire.

I am not a country or a cause, but Edward fights for me like any knight I have ever known. The way he fights is not suited to armor like mine, so he doesn't wear it.

I was king. Not all of the experience was great.

He has chain mail on to protect his chest in case something gets past that sword, but otherwise light clothing. For carrying something so large, he is surprisingly fast.

It's as complicated as it sounds.

He can very nearly keep up with me on the battlefield, though I suspect his sword weighs as much as I do. I think his lunaglyph is part of it, but the rest is his own enthusiasm.

[identity profile] grinnvalesti.livejournal.com 2009-01-18 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
You do not know of them?

A lunaglyph is a magical glyph bestowed on the night a child is born. It is a gift of lunar power, and its strength depends on the phase of the moon on the night of the birth. It is how most people in my world gain power.

[identity profile] grinnvalesti.livejournal.com 2009-01-18 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
The moon god gives people power. When there is a new moon or an eclipse, a child is considered an "unblessed." The different kingdoms have varying ways of dealing with such children, but they are generally considered bad omens and done away with.

I believe the phrase goes, "you are preaching to the choir."
