[This again... in this instance, though, Zack doesn't mind making the announcement. Luke had given him some bad news recently and it really seems to be hitting him hard, so it wouldn't be fair for the poor guy to have to tell everyone else, as well. He's been through enough lately.]

Hey guys, just a head's up... Guy Cecil's been sent back to his world.

[And since he'd rather not dwell on the bad news-]

Since we've lost him again, Good Spirits - that's the local bar here, for anybody who hasn't visited the place - is still looking for a couple more staff members, if anybody's interested. Servers especially. The place is run by me, Buffy, Raven, and Nami right now, but it's always nice to have a few nights off, so some extra hands can make a big difference for us. Inquire within!

We're trying to expand the menu to include some finger food, too- nothing too complicated, just stuff that's easy for anybody to make. Suggestions would be awesome.

That was the idea. Well, that's what I asked Nami when we talked about her joining the team, anyway. Don't know if it'll happen this time around.

You know, I can take the kidnappings, and the war, and the experiments... but this? It's the worst part about this place for me.

[ A touch testy, but the hot is mostly to blame for that- as evidenced by the way that seems to remind her to brush hair from her face with the back of a hand before settling it on the rind again. She pulls the knife from the melon, tilting it back and forth a moment as she briefly glances at the other village residents who have taken to bar-inhabiting at the moment. ]

Hope you're not running low on ice.

I think our supply is okay for now, but now that you've mentioned it, I'll probably start making more. If this heat keeps up we'll have one steady stream of customers this month.

[Speaking of which-]

Can I get you something? ...A watermelon slushie?

Oh! Then just leave the finger food ta Nami then! Problem solved! I'm sure she won't mind~

Whoa, now. You can't just dump all the responsibility on her! This job is a group effort, remember?

I told ya I'm not doin' any catering! I'm more than certain you guys are much better at it than me anyway. Don't want me poisonin' people by mistake, no?

Too bad they're not paying.

[ Said quietly, as she... tries not to think of a particular cafe and what the gil credit from selling all those drinks to thirsty beach-goers funded. She takes a second to consider his question, while she goes back to finishing the first cut down through the watermelon and then allows it to fall into halves. Fortunately, it looks like she picked this one well.

Finally, she smirks slightly. ]

Noel seemed excited about wanting to help out with the bar. He's no expert on drinking, but hey. There's nothing wrong with wanting to help someone in need. ]

[Zack grins, waiting for her to cut more; he needs at least one slice before he can make one. Or two. Two would be good.]

It's the least I can do for bringing it over and making a mess all over my bar counter.

I think nibbly bits would be good. Finger food. We don't need utensils to clean.

[Ikki is familiar with the bar, he drops by fairly often. In fact during a long month he basically spent all his time there, getting drunk from when they opened to when they closed... Or to when Smoker came in to drag him back home, whatever happened first. Honestly he has never really cared about the bar besides that it was there and people were serving drinks, but today he must have a fever or something because when he hears this he actually wonders about if he should offer to help.]

Do you require experience at the other side of the bar counter or does experience as a customer work?

Yeah, I was thinking that. We have enough work on our hands cleaning the glasses, adding plates to the pile is my limit.

Well... if you were going to become a bartender, you'd have to know how to mix the drinks, yeah. But you could always start as a server and learn on the job.

What's the point of a staff if there's no money? We're all grown creatures here. We can grab our booze ourselves.

My boy, there are some things yer better off not knowin' at all. My cookin' is one of them. Just leave me servin' the drinks, I'm good at it!
